Who I am
I am a sole trader providing Vedic astrology consultation services under the name Thejyotish®, based in England, and registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). If you have any questions about how your data is handled, please contact me via the contact form on this website.
What information I collect and why
To provide astrological services I collect the following personal information:
- Name and contact details including email address and telephone number
- Date, time, and place of birth
- Town or city of residence
- Relationship status and birth gender
- Dates of past significant life events
- Subject of consultation and relevant background information you choose to share
- Information you share voluntarily during consultations relating to your life circumstances, health, relationships, career, or other personal matters
This information is collected solely for the purpose of preparing and delivering your astrological consultation. I do not collect this information for any other purpose.
Readings booked on behalf of another person
Where a reading is booked for someone other than the person submitting the intake form, personal details about the third party will be collected. By submitting the form you confirm that you have that person’s knowledge and permission for their information to be provided and used for the purpose of the reading.
Special category data
Some information you share during a consultation — such as health matters or spiritual beliefs — may constitute special category data under UK GDPR. This information is collected and processed only with your implicit consent, given by engaging my services, and is used solely for the purpose of your reading.
How I use your information
Your personal information is used to:
- Prepare your astrological birth chart and analysis
- Conduct your consultation session
- Provide follow-up materials such as recordings and written reports
- Arrange pujas or ritual services where requested (see below)
Who I share your information with
I do not sell or pass your personal data to any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.
Where you have requested a puja, yagna, or other ritual service, relevant personal details will be shared with independent priests or organisations in India solely for the purpose of conducting the ritual. This may include your name, town of birth, town of residence, horoscope details, and the purpose or intention of the ritual where required for the sankalpa. Your exact date and time of birth and home address are never shared.
How I keep your information secure
All client records are stored on encrypted storage devices. Access is restricted to me alone. Backups are maintained on secure third-party cloud storage. No client data is shared with or accessible to any other person.
How long I keep your information
I retain client records, including notes and recordings, indefinitely, as clients frequently return for follow-up consultations and continuity of records supports the quality of the service. If you would like your information deleted, please contact me via the contact form and I will action this promptly.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you
- Request correction of any inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
